Who we are

What we collect
- From sellers: the material details you submit, photos, the material's address, and your name, company, phone and email.
- From buyers: company, contact name, email, phone, the categories you buy, your ZIP code, pickup radius, deal size range and alert preferences. We convert your ZIP code to approximate coordinates to measure distance to lots.
- From inquiries: your name, company, contact details, message and any offer amount.
- From account holders: your name, email and an encrypted password managed by Google Firebase Authentication, plus an optional company and phone number, the lots you save and the searches you save. We never see your password. You can delete your account, and everything saved in it, from the Account page.
- Automatically: standard server logs kept by our hosting provider, and a reCAPTCHA check on forms to block automated abuse. [PLACEHOLDER: analytics tools, if any are added]
How seller information is protected
Seller identity and exact address are never shown on the site. Public listings show city and state only. Seller details are stored separately from public listings and can be read only by MaterialsBroker.com staff. Location metadata is removed from photos before they are published. We release a seller's name and pickup address to a buyer only after a deal is agreed.
How we use information
- To review submissions, match lots with buyers, answer inquiries and complete transactions.
- To send buyers alerts about lots that match the preferences they gave us.
- To contact you about a submission, an inquiry or a deal.

Email and text alerts
Every alert email has an unsubscribe link or tells you how to stop. Alerts for saved searches go only to email addresses that have been confirmed, and you can switch them off per search on the Account page. Reply STOP to any text to end texts. Message and data rates may apply. You can also ask us to remove you at any time.
Service providers
We use Google Firebase for hosting, database, file storage and sign-in, Google reCAPTCHA for abuse prevention, Resend to deliver email and Textbelt to deliver text messages. They process data on our behalf.
